Important Pacific Conference Starts To-day
Received Monday, 10.40 p.m. MANILA, April 7. The United States Army in the Philippines staged an air demonstration celebrating Army Day including in the display 36 new pursuit planes. Meanwhile the Army chiefs have prepared to receive Air Marshal Sir R. Brooke-Popham (British Com-mander-in-Chief in the Par Bast) and General Van Leffens (Dutch East Indies) on Tuesday for what is considered the omst Important conference yet on co-ordinated Pacific defence.
