Evening Wedding at All Saints’ Church

TUCKER—RIX On the evening of Juno 23 a pretty wedding was solemnised at All Saints' Church, Palmerston North, when Marjorie Irene, fourth daughter of Mrß. and the late Mr. S. Eix, of Linton, was married to Albert Fresliney, youngest sou of Mrs. and tho late Mr. L. Tucker. Canon G. Y. Woodward was the officiating clergyman and Mr. J. Holmes Runnicles presided at the prgan. The bride, who was given away by her brother, Mr. Laurence Rix, was attired in a lovely trained gown of ivory silk velvet, fashioned on graceful lines, the softly draped neckline finished with sprays of orange blossom and lilies, the sleeves long and full, and the skirt falling to form a circular train. Worn over the face, a filmy veil of embroidered tulle was held in place with a halo of orange blossom. Ivory kid shoes to tone completed a very effective toilette. The bride carried a beautiful sheath of white begonias, carnations, camellias and maidenhair fern tied with streamers of ivory ribbon. In attendance as bridesmaid was Miss Audrey Kerslake, cousin of the bride, who wore a frock of morning mist ninon fashioned with ruched bodice and sleeves, also fully flared skirt with two narrow velvet ribbons encircling the waist and finishing in small bows. She carried a beautiful bouquet of softlytoned flowers and wore a halo of pink carnatious and begonias.

The little flower-girl, Anne Merryman, looked dainty in a frock of ivory crepe de chine made with high-waisted bodice, full skirt with dainty bows of pink and blue. A narrow headband 6f pink and blue flowers was worn and she carried a posy to tone. The bridegroom was attended by Mr. Geoff. Rix as best man.

The reception was held at the Royal Dutch lounge, where some 60 guests were received by Mrs. Bix, who wore a navy frock and coat relieved with cherry, navy hat and fur stole. Her posy was of autumn tints. In the absence of the bridegroom's mother, his sister, Mrs. Mcrryman, assisted at the reception. She wore a frock of cyclamen satin with fur cape. Tho usual toasts were honoured, Rev. Canon Woodward being toastmaster.

The bride and bridegroom left later by car for the honeymoon, the bride travelling in a frock of prunella uool crepe de Chine trimmed with green and violet braid, a veiled hat, and coat with grey squirrel fur, also accessories to tone.
