WORLD-WIDE MOVEMENT FOR PALMERSTON NORTH
To the women of Palmerston North is to be given the great opportunity of linking up with the women of all parts of the world and stretching and swinging their way to better health and beauty. The Women’s League of Health is opening in Palmerston North, Miss Dorothy Adams (cert, hons., Training School, Sydney) is the teacher to be in 'charge of this far-flung branch of the I world famous movement which aims at doing active good and useful work for the individual woman as well as for I society in general. The league was started in England in England in 1930 by Mrs. Bagat-Stack and is now under the leadership of her daughter, Lady Douglas Hamilton. The English membership is over 195,000 and is to-day the most important and the most popular form of physical training in the British Empire.
A display by 5000 members of the league was given at the Empire Stadium, Wembley, last month. This Empire pageant included a demonstration by a Canadian team of 48 and other items which brought in members from Australia, Eire, New Zealand and South Africa.
Miss Adams feels confident that Pal merston North will quickly beconn league-conscious and next year will b<
represented at Wembley.
