Representative Rugby

MANAWATU v. HOROWHENUA Manawatu will meet Horowhenua in senior and junior representative football matches at the Showgrounds tomorrow' afternoon. The senior fixture, commencing at 2.30 p.m., should bo an excellent match. Horowhenua defeated Manawatu earlier in tho season, and this time Manawatu will be anxious to turn the tables, but Horowhenua will be equally anxious to maintaiu their ascendancy. Whether the Manawatu representative side is a stronger and improved combination only the match can prove. The curtain-raiser, commencing at 1.15 p.m., between the junior representative fifteens of these unions, should be as interesting as tho senior. The other senior representative team will meet Wairarapa at Masterton, CANTERBURY OUTCLASS NORTH OTAGO Per Press Association. OAMARU, Aug. 3. The suggestion that tho All Blacks would play a match against the rest on their return to New Zealand was discussed at a meeting of the executive of the New Zealand Rugby Union to-day. In view of numerous difficulties, such as the clashing with inter-provincial fixtures, it was agreed to communicate with Dr. J. G. Adams (administrative manager of the team) to ascertain whether the players could obtain the necessary leavo should the match be arranged later in the season.
