A meeting was called last week by the Marton branch of the National Party with a view to forming a local junior branch. There was an attendance of over 40 and the candidate for the electorate, Mr E. B. K. Gordon, presided. It was decided to form a junior section and a further meeting will be held next Thursday, when a report -will be presented and the election of officers will take place. Intsrhouse Swimming. The annual interhouse swimming sports of the Marton District High School were held last week, when Brown House again carried the honours, gaining 78 points. Blue were the runners-up with points, Red were third with 58 and Green next with 57S points. Teachers acte-r as officials and Mr A. Way as timekeeper. At the end of the programme a novelty event in which six fully-clothed rescuers set out to save a youth who was supposed to be drowning, caused much amusement.
