“ Air Attack Not Irresistible ”
APPEAL FOR VOLUNTEERS United Press Association—By Electric Telegraph.—Copyright. Received Tuesday, 7.5 p.m. LONDON, March 15. Broadcasting, Sir Samuel Hoarc, Home Secretary, appealed for 1,000,000 volunteers willing to face danger, if an air raid came, to assist the Government’s plans for air protection. He said free men would give better service than anything produced in authoritarian States, “I do not share tho view that air attack is irresistible ho concluded.
