By a unanimous vote the Waipawa National Party Electoral Committee selected Mr. Albert Edward Jull to stand as a candidate for Waipawa at the General Election in the interests of the National Party. FIVE NOMINATIONS RECEIVED FOR WAIRARAPA SEAT. Per Press Association. CARTERTON, March 15. The following nominations for the National Party’s candidate have been received for the Wairarapa seat : Messrs. J. W. Card (Featherston), L. J. Fairbrother (Carterton), H. F. Toogood (Wellington), J. F. Thompson (Greytown), and J. J. Maher (Upper Hutt). - These names are to be submitted to a selection committee consisting of delegates from all branches of the Wairarapa National Party. The final selection will be announced shortly. WILL DR. MCMILLAN STAND AGAIN? "Per Press Association. DUNEDIN, Last Night When the attention of Dr. D. G. McMillan, M.P. for Dunedin West, was drawn to tht fact tliat although the other three sitting members m Dunedin were re-nominated by the National Executive of the Labour Party to contest the forthcoming elections, his name was not included on the list, he stated that he had not yet completely recovered from his recent severe illness. He declined to make any comment on the report that he does not intend to contest the Dunedin West seat at the next elections.
