Methodist Conference
OFFICIAL OPENING LAST NIGHT Per Press Association. WELLINGTON, Last Night. The official opening of the Methodist Church annual Dominion Conference took placti this evening in the Taranaki Strecit Church, Rev. F. Copeland presiding. There was a full attendance of ministers and lay delegates from all parts of the Dominion. Rev. Percy Paris, president for 1938, was introduced by Rev. E. D. Patchett, Dr. H. Ransto i and Mr. R. S. Maunder and was welcomed by the ex-president, Rev. F. Copeland. Mr. J. N. Tietjens, of Hamilton, was elected vice-president for 1938, Rev. A. Mcßean, president, and Rev. W. A. Burley, M.A., secretary. During the day the conference was engaged in committee work. To-morrow the full conference is to deal with general business.
