Wedding of Apiti Interest

BIGHAM—DOUGHTY On Saturday afternoon at St. Andrew’s Church, . Falmerston North, Marsha Irene (Ann) Doughty, eldest daughter of Mr. and Mrs. A. .6J* Doughty, ‘‘Roseneath,” Apiti, was married to John, son of Mr. and -a.rs. James Bigham, of Otorohanga. Escorted by her father, the tall, darkhaired bride made an attractive picture in her empire gown of blush pink rippled satin with long sleeves, and a row of tiny buttons on the back to the flare which formed the fan shaped train. A corsage spray of pink natural flowers looked most effective. Her pink tinted veil was handsomely embroidered and worn over tho face being caught to t he hair with tiny pink, flowers. Matching shoes were worn and her bouquet was of pink gladioli, lilies and ferns. Attending the bride was Miss Molly Price, of P ilmerston North, in a dainty frock of cyclamen net over taffeta with fresh flowe :s at the square neckline. Matching shoes were worn, and on uer haif was a circlet of plaited cyclamen net with a “top-knot” of toning flowers to match her bouquet of mauve gladioli, asters and ferns. Mr. T. C raham, of Napier, was the best man. The Rev. J. Hubbard, M.A.8.D., performed the ceremony and the wedding music fvas played by Mr. A. J. Graham, The reception was held at the Royal Dutch Lounge, where Mr. and Mrs. Doughty entertained over one hundred guests. M:'s. Doughty wore an en* semble of burgundy and white figured marocain w ith beige straw hat, and her posy was of blue scabias and foliage. Mr. and Mrs. Bigham and Miss —xgham were a,lso present and tho bridegroom’s mother wore a frock of navy, cream and red floral marocain with large beige straw hat trimmed with poppies. Her flowers were red carnations. After the reception the guests visited the home of Mr. and. Mrs. Price, of Milverton avenue, where a beautiful array of wedding gifts was on view. For travelling the bride -wore a smart honey-gold linen suit, with navy blouse and accessories and navy hat. Mr. and Mrs. John Bigham will make r'f—
