Sewerage Loan Poll To-day

The attention of ratepayex*s is directed to the poll being taken to-day on a proposal to raise £IO,OOO for the relaying of sewer mains in College street, part of Ferguson street and part of Botanical road, Palmerston North. Addressing a public meeting on Saturday evening, the Mayor (Mr. A. E. Mansford) declared that the present sewer in the area affected is in a state of collapse and the relaying of the pipes was essential in the interests of health, as well as to guard against possible claims arising from accidents should holes develop in the roadway as a result of the pipes breaking.
