National Party
JUNIOR BRANCH FORMED A large attendance last night testified to the interest taken in politics by the ‘young people when a meeting arranged | by the Palmerston North branch of the I National Party was held. Five speakers, representatives of re- . tailers, a large commercial warehouse, a house agent, and the average man in the street, delivered well-reasoned addresses on the effect of legislation in regard to their businesses and urged young people to take an intelligent interest in the government of their country. At the conclusion of the meeting a junior branch of the National Party was formed and a representative committee elected. The activities of the junior branch will, it is hoped, stimulate an active interest in politics among those young people who will soon have the power to vote, and it is anticipated that a large number who hitherto have taken no interest in such things will take this opportunity of doing so.
