Flood Dangers of U.S.A. LOS ANGELES HOMES EVACUATED United Press Association—Bv Electric Telegraph.— Copyright. Received Monday, 9.45 p.m. LOS ANGELES, Feb. 15. Aloro than 500 have evacuated suburban homes through twenty-four hours of rainfall having caused creeks and drainage basins to overflow'. Police and the Red Cross used boats for tho evacuation. The authorities at New Orleans have expressed the belief that the Mississippi flood -danger has ended. Harvard Observatory has announced *tho discovery of a new comet in the constellation canesvenatici and of the twelfth magnitude. It is invisible to the naked eye and has a tail of one degree. Six thousand men were at work at Olympia yesterday and 2500 at White City preparing stalls and making other liunl preparations for tho opening at these great centres of the London section of the British Industries Fair on Monday. MERCHANT SHIPS TO JOIN CORONATION NAVAL REVIEW. RUGBY, Feb. 13. The Secretary of the Admiralty announces that, in view of their close association with tho Royal Navy iu imperial defence, tho King has granted permission to the Admiralty to invite the merchant navy and fishing fleets to send representative ships to the Coronation Naval Review at Spithead on May 20.
