(From Our Own Correspondent.) Tho monthly meeting of the executive of tho Alilson Progressive Association was held in tho hall ou Huuday morning. Members present wore Messrs Richmond (chair), Ferguson, Johnston, Camming and Gilbert (secretary). A letter is to bo written to tho Railway Department regarding footpaths round tho cottagoa; also one to tho engineer pointing out the bad stato of the rouds iu tho settlement qud asking if something could be done with residents who are emptying rubbish on the school road, also the bad stato of Tepair of the footpaths around tho settlement. It was also resolved to write to tne Manawatu Aero Club complaining that aeroplanes continually fly low over the railway settlement and thut men who have been on night duty cannot get sleep. A letter is to be sent to Air Fred Williams, who has been recently transferred to Napier, for past services rendered , tho association while ho was a member of tho executive. Railway Picnic. The railwaymen'a annual day out is to bo held at Paekakariki on Huuday, February 28, when a special non-stop train will leave Palmerston North, returning again in the evening. A strong committee has been set up with Air E. Bulmer as secretary and Air T. AlcPheo as assistant and Air M. Heath as chairman. Tho committee is working hard to make this function a greater success than last year.
