Those who benefit by the amnesty include the mutineers of the battleship Zeven Provincien in the Dutch East Indies in 1933. THE HAGUE, Jan. 5. This beautiful city to-night is ablaze with millions of coloured lights while bands of students linked arm in arm arc patrolling tho streets singing and shouting the names of the royal couple whose marriage on Thursday has roused ull Holland to rejoicing. The Duke of Kent was present at a luncheon party given by the Queen at which there were 250 guests who thereafter with Princess Juliana and Prince Bernhard drove to the cinema where they privately witnessed films shot by the Prince showing Princess Juliana iu the royal garden on the day they were betrothed, holiday incidents and scenes at the carnival taken by the Prince from the palace window. Queen Wilhcmina, Princess Juliana and Prince Bernhard with 300 guests after dinner uttended a gala performance at the Opera House where tb* audience rose and sang fervently the Dutch National Anthem followed L>y “Deutschland Über Alles” and tho “Horst Wessel,” when only a lew voices were raised. Then came “God Save the King” in which the whole audience joined iu tremendous enthusiasm. Dr. Peter Vauanrooy should have conducted but ho declined when he learned that the “Horst Wessel” was to be included. He said he would never play a part in a song directed against the Jews and the opponents of Nazi views. Captain Walther Boer, conductor of the Royal Army military band, conducted the anthems after which Dr. Vananrooy took the baton. It is expected that Prince Bernhar 1 will be given the title of Prince of the Netherlands with the rank of his Royal Highness. It is believed the honeymoon will be in southern Tyrol.
