Serious Shortage of Fruit in Hawke’s Bay

LATE FROST AND STORMS. Per Press Association. HASTINGS, Last Night. A serious shortage of stone fruit exists on the Hawke’s Bay market, this being one of the results of a late October frost which did extensive damage in orchards locally. Peaches have been most affected and it is almost irnposgible to obtain any quantity of these. There will be a serious shortage of apples of all varieties, as the supplies left untouched by th& frost have been heavily diminished by subsequent storms. Tomatoes, however, are jq excellent supply.
