Keen Sale at Addington
EXPORT BUYERS IN THE. MARKET. Per Press Association. CHRISTCHURCH, Last Night. The market to-day was the first at which export buyers operated this season and they were keen buyers for lambs and all classes of wethers. Store sheep: A fair yarding, mostly wethers and including Chatham Island lines. There was a keen sale and an advance of a shilling a head. Shorn wethers made to 23s and a line of nearly GOO from Marlborough 18s Sd to 19s.
Fat lambs: The schedule for 36’s i's B}d lb. with farthing drops for heavier clases. These prices were fully maintained to-day and in cases exceeded. Extra prime heavy made to 34s lOd, prime heavy 28s 6d, 31s, prime medium weight 26s to 28s and light down to 245. Fat sheep: 3SOO w r ere penned ami there was a keen demand by exporters for wethers. For heavy sorts 5Jd lb. was paid by freezing buyers. The market was better than a week ago. by Is Gd head. Best wethers made to 31s 4d, prime from 25s Gd to 29s Gd, others down to 22s Gd; best ewes from 24s Gd to 265, medium 22s to 245, others down to 18s Gd.
Fat cattle: A smaller entry and a slight recovery in values. Light prime bodies made to 35s .lOOlbs., good 31s to 335, heavier weight to 295, and inferior down to 24s lOOlbs. Best steers som at from £l2 to £l4 17s 6d, good £lO 10s to £lllss, others down to £9; best heifers, £8 15s to £lO 12s Gd and best cow 3 from £S to £ll 7s Gd.
• Fat pigs: A drop of 3s per head for porkers with baconers little changed. Porkers made from 29s Gd to 46s Gd, average price per lb. 5Jd to Gd; baconers, 49s Gd to £3 18s Gd, average price per lb. s£d to Gd.
