Gift Evening for a Bride-elect

MISS MAUNDER HONOURED Her wedding day approaching, Miss Joan Maunder has been honoured at several happy functions. A delightful gift evening was held at the residence of Mrs. G. Houston, Church street, where the rooms were brightly decorated with rose 3 and poppies. Mrs. Houston recoived her guests wearing a green silk frock with a gold girdle. Miss Maunder wore a graceful frock of grey chenille with georgette sleeves, with a corsage of pink roses and carnations.

The time passed all too quickly with games, competitions and musical items. Miss Maunder contributed elocutionary items, Mr. Rowe vocal solo 3 and Messrs Houston and Murray vocal duets. At a suitable juncture Mr. Houston asked Miss Maunder to accept the very handsome gifts her friends had brought, musical honours following, and Mr. Rowe returning thanks on behalf of Miss Maunder and himself.

L. Blank, Mr. and Mrs. J. S. Murray, Mr. and Mrs. Brown, Aliases E. Rowe and Sankey, Bonnie Houston and Nola Greer, Messrs Rowe and R. Higgins.
