TESCHEMAKER HANDICAP WON BY QUEEN DOROTHY SPRINT TO CAPITAL Per Press Association. TIMARU, Oct. 17. The South Canterbury Jockey Club’s spring meeting was held to-day. The totalisator was conducted under the win and place system, the amount put through being £II,SOO 10s. Last year (single pool) the amount was £7946 10s. There was a cold wind but lino weather and the track was fast. The attendance was good.

After going two furlongs The Surgeon took charge from Tunneller, Queen Dorothy and Epris. Turning for home The Surgeon and Epris were together in front of Queen Dorothy but Queen Dorothy came through on the rails and won by a neck, The Surgeon beating Tunneller by a head, with Acla three lengths away fourth. Time, 2.9 4-5.

Silver Sail and Concertpitch lod round the top and to the straight from Rebel Chief and Dollar Bill. Capital came fast from the homo turn and beat Concertpitch by a neck with Silver Sail half a length further away. Invoice was fourth. Time, 1.12 2-5.
