King Tut took tho lead early from Silver Brier, Horowhenua, Knight of Australia, Gay Talkie, Mazir and Master Brieriy. King Tut held the lead into the straight with Kmgkt of Australia and Horowhenua close up, but Mazir went through quickly from fifth position to win by one and a-half lengths from Silver Brier, who was fourth into the straight. Knight of Australia was a length back third and Gay Talkie was fourth. Time, 2.7£.
