From Our Own Correspondent Defence Rifle Club.
Conditions were very bad for shooting on Saturday when the J3uils Defence Jttifie Ciuh iired its weekly shoot. Kairi fell for the greater part of the afternoon. Scores are as under: K. Dumsden 50, 48, 98; IV. J. Jenkins 48, 49, 97; W. A. Stevenson 47, 48, 95; P. Thorby 49, 44, 98, H. Meads 4G, 40, 98. Vital Statistics. Mr. W. IX. Adams (registrar) supplies the following information relating to the vital statistics of Dulls for the September quarter, the figures in parentheses being those of the corresponding quarter for last year: Births 4 (4), deaths nil (nil), marriages 3 (1). Two deaths occurred recently but were registered ii: Mar ton. Rangitikei Golf.
The closing day was marred by very wet conditions. Mr. K. W. Dalrymple in his remarks said that the old players must look to their laurels as the younger players figured largely in the prize list. Cheers were given for Mr. and Mrs. J. Tricker for their hospitality during the past season as in all other years. Mrs. McKenzie presented the trophy to the different prize winners. The closing day for the above club took place last week when about 30 members were present. Airs. McKenzie, the club’s captain, presented the prizes to the different winners and Allss O. Levett in thanking the donors of the trophies during the vear also expressed the club’s thanks to Mr. and Mrs. J. Tricker for I their kindness and generosity to the club. The greenkeeper was especially mentioned for the manner in which he had kept the greens. Following are all the winners for the season: Senior championship (Harris Cup): Miss C.
