Charity Sunday Concert

WELLINGTON HARMONIC SOCIETY.

Tlio programme to be presented at the grand charity concert to be given in the Tivoli Theatre on Sunday afternoon next by the Wellington Harmonic Society is one calculated to make the widest possible appeal. The society's famous choir, which has captured the hearts of music-lovers in Wellington, will be heard in the following numbers:—'‘Bridal Chorus" from “The Rose Maiden" (F. H. Cowen), “The Sea Hath its Pearls’’ (Giro Pinsuti), “Bees," a four-part song by Percy E. Pletchcr, “My Love Dwelt in a Northern Land" (Elgar), “I Waited for the Lord” (Mendelssohn's Hymn of Praise), “Seraphic Song" (Anton Rubinstein) with Ada Coventry (soloist), Esther Caigou (pianist), and Reg. Svttonn (violinist); “Australian Upcountry Song" (Percy Grainger); "Eventide” (Harcus Plimmer), with Myra Sawyer (soloist). The foregoing are a selection of the numbers to be rendered by the choir of 54 voices. In addition, there will bo a wide selection of solo numbers, including items by the international violinist, Reg. Svttonn. The proceeds of this concert will be devoted to the Feilding fund of the health stamp campaign and the committee responsible for the organisation trust that the popular contribution of Is for acjmission will be acceptable to all who desire to hear ’this famous choir, which won such distinction®undcr the baton of Dr. Malcolm Sargeant recently in tho Capital. Mr H. Temple White, formerly of Feilding, will conduct the choir.
