Returned Soldiers in Hospital

(To the Editor). Sir, —Your correspondent, “R..S. Inmate)" deserves the thanks of his suffering comrades in the Palmerston North hospital for drawing attention to tshe callousness of the local R.S.A. in not keeping in touch with their sick comrades. Sometimes one of tho hospital employees brings loz of tobacco to some of the returned inmates, but they are generally his personal friends, and for that a vote of thanks is accorded him at each annual meeting of the R.S.A. I have been an inmate of the hospital at different times since 1920 —five years in all —and during all that time I never saw anyone from the R.S.A., fior did I receive one ounce of tobaceo from the aforementioned em ; ployee or anyone else.—l am, etc., “15-BAR."
