Feilding’s Claim for Rep. Rugby Games
(To the Editor.)
Sir, —I have just been reading the names of the players selected to represent Mauawatu in the game against Southern Haxvke's Bay. The thing which struck me most was that eight of those selected (including reserves) are Feilding players. Again, on looking up the venue of the representative fixtures to bo played by Manawatu 1 notice that not one of the games is vet. down to bo played in Feilding. This seems to me to be unfair because when representative games have been played in Feilding they have been a financial success. Feilding has a better and a drier ground than any other in the union on account of the excellent draiuage, and although not perhaps having the seating accommodation of Palmerston North Showground (now almost a thing of the past as far as football is concerned) the Johnston Park Showground is excellently sheltered. Surely, Sir, in view of the above facte at least one representative game should bo allotted to Feilding as this appears to be only fair.—l am, etc., “ CURIOUS. ” June 1(5, 1936.
