From Our Own Correspondent. The Milson Tennis Club held a S(H) tournament on Friday night, Quito u number ot card enthusiasts attending. iMrs R. Brown was the Winner ot the first prize for ladies, while Mr Simpson won the men’s first prize. Consolation prizes were awarded to Mrs Pepper and Mr E. Johansen. The committee s thanks are duo to the donors of the prizes as follows: Mrs Johansen, Mrs Rasmussen and Messrs Millar and Giogi. The Milson Tennis Club held a doubles tournament during the week-end when Mrs Rasmussen and Mr R. McPherson were the winners. Following is a list of points secured by the players: Mrs Rasmussen and McPherson 210, Mrs Edgar and Edgar 208, Mrs Williams and Gilbert 202 Mrs W. Brown and Pearce ISO, Mrs Barclay and Taylor IS7, Mrs Taylor and Johansen 180, Mrs R. Brown and W. Fairbairn 182, Miss R. Johansen and vv. Brown 170, Mm Johansen and Ferguson 11 ’ School Committee. The Milson School committee held its monthly meeting on Monday evening. Members present were Messrs Murphj, (chair) Hutchinson, McAvoy and Robertson (secretary). The sports ground and Esplanade havo been secured for the school picnic to bo held on Friday next, and providing the weather 'teeps lino, a good attendance is expected Buses will leave Milson about 10 a.m. Arrangements are also in hand for the swimming sports to be held in the near future. The school re-opened on 3rd Inst., when 17 new pupils were admitted, 15 pupils being five and six year olds The average attendance for the week for 110. Personal. M" C. Proctor of the traflic branch at the *Faimerston North Railway Station, has left for Hawera where he has been transferred. „ , Mr W. Brown, of the clerical staff at Palmerston North Railway Station, has received word of his transfer to Eketanuna.
