It was learned on good authorityyesterday that one of the larger butter factories was about to pay out to its suppliers the satisfactory price of Is per lb. on butterfat received during the past month. This undoubtedly must have been received as good news by the farmers who supply the factory concerned, the price mentioned not having been reached for some years by the company in question. In the near future it is likely that tho Borough Council will frame a bylaw permitting one-way traffic only in Main street. Speaking to a “Times’representative yesterday a borough councillor said that on busy days motor traffic became very congested. The layout of the town was admirably suited to one-w-ay traffic and if such a course of action became law, then he was convinced that the measure, instead of holding up traffic, would do much to facilitate the complained-of congestion which now obtains. The matter is to bo brought up at the next council meeting. The Pahiatua bowlers who visited Wellington on Wednesday, together with other members of the Manawatu Bowling Centre representative rinks, struck misty conditions on their motor ride to Wellington, and soon after, tkey reached the capital city it was apparent that very little bowling would be done that day owing to rain. This proved to be the case and the only game the Pahiatua players took part in was interrupted by rain.
