Tho various, retail storekeepers, sineo re-opening for tho New Year, have experienced the usual reaction after the holiday rush period and during the past few days tho town has been very quiet. While the month of January, for most business men, is always a poor ono when taken in comparison with other periods of .the year, business in general takes a lift for the better in conjunction with the return to business of the town’s solicitors and local body officers; their presence in t.heir respective official capacities creating added activity generally. It is to be expected, therefore, that next week will see more people in town and that Main street will present a brisker appearance than it has over the past few days.
