Local Notes
The membership of tho Pahiatua A. and P. Association has been augmented by the addition of tho following now members: —Messrs J. Milne Allan, G. H. Wilton (Bailance), F. T. Anderson (Ngaturi), and Mrs J, Dick (Ngaturi). It is very gratifying to note tho steady increase in the Association’s membership, as there is no better indication of a Society’s progressiveness. Mr G. G. Hill,, proprietor of tho Rutland Hotel, has generously donated the first and second prize money—£3 and £2 respectively—for tho standing local chop handicap, for contestants residing in the Pahiatua, Eketahuna, Woodvilie and Akitio counties, at the forthcoming Pahiatua A. and P. Show.
Tho following team will represent the Mangatainoka cricketers against Galliekuu’s eleven at Mangatainoka this week-end, play commencing at 10.30 a.m.:—Macpherson, Taylor, Murck, Broughton, Lawton, Matthews, Dungan, Vibert, Gowler, Smith, Hunt, Williams and Small.
