Health Inspector's Report

ON CARNIVAL PARK. ONE FAULT TO FIND. The report of the Inspector of Health, Mr C. Read, of Palmerston North, on his recent inspection of Carnival Park, has been received by the Domain Board and reads as under:— . “I find that tho conditions existing at the park and tho motor camp were generally- g00d,..... The absence of drainage for tho caretaker’s cottage is tho one black spot at" tho park. I have to ask that drainage be provided for the cottage. It will be necessary to construct an earthenware drain with gully trap to receive tho waste water from the fittings, the drain to discharge into a sub-irrigation drain. The length of the drain need not be more than 20 feet. Tho drain will then discharge into a trench not less than 40 feet in length, filled for half its length with stones, tho stones covered with scrub and finally filled in with earth. Owing to the hot weather thi s matter is urgent, and I would ask that it receive your immediate attention.”
