Ladies’ Golf Title at Bulls

WEN - FOR MISS THICKER The finals of tho ladies’ golf championships were played on tho Eangltikoi club’s course last woek. Misses Cynthia Wilson and Mavis Thicker were tho finalists iu tho senior cup, and tho play-off was a most memorable one. Miss Wilson got an early lead and was still in front half-way from home. Both ladies were playing good golf and excitement ran high when Miss Thicker evened up on tho last hole but one. Tho latter had rovealod qualities of determination and pluck in the early stages of tho game, and once on terms she produced splendid form to take tho last deciding hole. Miss Triclcer has now won tho title for three years iu succession. Miss Nancy Wilson won the junior final.

MINA SEIFERT CUP MATCH WITH MARTON

A team of eight players from the Marton Ladies’ Golf Club challenged Manawatu for tho Mina Seifert cup on Friday afternoon. Tho match resulted in Manawatu retaining the cup by 5 games to 1, two games being halved. The detailed scores were as follow, Manawatu players being mentioned first: —Mrs T. Buxton iost to Miss Galpin, Miss R. Rutledge halved with Miss Cockburn, Mrs W. S. Fell beat Mrs McLean, Mrs H. E. Edmunds beat Mrs Greet, Miss Cunningham© beat Mrs Church, Mrs C. G. Moore halved with Miss Cochran, Miss B. McFarlane beat Miss Beckett, Miss I. Rutledge beat Mrs Christensen. Inter-Club Match

Mrs B. Jacobs lost to Mrs A. H. Marshall, Mts D. V. Stewart lost to Mrs J. A. Harris, Mrs D. O. Williams beat Miss J. Fullerton-Smith, Mrs P.
