Rongotea
From Our Own Correspondent.
At a meeting of the llongotea school committee there were present Messrs \V. Amies, A. Hill, J. Duke, W. Matlieson, E. Croad and K. E. Allen. Tho shoot opened for tho third team, with a roll number of 85 and the first week’s aver, ago attendance was 7S.ii. Several matters requiring attention came bel'oro the meeting and tho cnairman was authorised to get tho heating apparatus attended to and various other items of repair work done. Owing to tho continued wet weather tho grounds had not been in suitable order for planting but Arbor day is to be celebrated on Wednesday and, among others, a jubilee commemoration tree is to be planted. Tho selection of an English tree suitable for the purpose was left to Mr Croad. Parents and friends are to bo cordially welcomed. Tho school-will close on a Friday for tho Palmerston North spring show. Mr J. C. Glover was a successful exhibitor at tho Marton bulb show, winning tho Alan Gibson trophy for the most points In the amateur section, and trophy for the best trumpet daffodil in the show.
