LAMES DEVELOP EOOT MALADY Sheep breeders in the district have found a new form of trouble attacking their stock, aud iu this case the malady is confined to the lambs. When lirst noticed the knee joints appear swollen and the inflammation passes down the leg, causing the hoof to decay and finally rot oil'. There does not seem to be any reliable remedy for the disease, aud in every case of infection farmers have had to despatch the lambs.

One farmer whose Southdown appeared to have been more prone to the ailment than any other breed on his farm, told a “Times” reporter that he was of the opinion that it was a similar affliction to that which assails horses, and evidently had its origin in the blood system.
