To Make Survey of Dairy Industry
MANAWATU FACTORIES SEEK OVERLAPPING CUBE
Mr 0. 11. Courteney, secretary of the Eltham Co-op. Dairy Co., and Mr W. Wcstwatcr, internal auditor of the New Zealand Co-op. Dairy Co. (Hamilton), have been selected to make the economic survey of the Munawatu and West Coast Dairy Companies’ Association area in the endeavour to solve the problem of overlapping of cream collection. The appointment of those two officers is the result of the conference company directors had with the Exceu tivc Commission of Agriculture til Palmerston North recently. They will commence their inquiry to-day, following a discussion they had on Saturday with members of the Executive Commission of Agriculture —Sir Francis Frazer (deputy-chairman), Mr D. Jones and Mr G. A. Duncan.
Both investigators have had a long association with the dairying industry. Mr Wcstwatcr was a member of a special committee which was appointed about, live, years ago to examine the economic position of the dairy farmers. On that committee he represented the Waikato. Mr Wcstwatcr has been internal auditor for tHe New Zealand Co-operative Dairy Company for the past nine years, and prior to that he was accountant to the company. He was also accountant in the old New Zealand Dairy Association beforo its amalgamation with the New Zealand Co operative Dairy Company. Mr Courteney, who is a follow ot the New Zealand Society of Accountants, has been secretary to the Eltham Dairy Company for the past 10 years, and prior to that he had six years’ secretarial experience in the dairying j industry in the Manawatu as secretary ! of the Bongotea Dairy Company.
