i'rom Our Own Correspondent. Bulb and Produce Show. The annual meeting’ of those interested in the Bulb and Produce Show was held on Friday evening. Although the inclenienev of the weather precluded a large attendance, the numerous apologies for absences and offers of assistance demonstrate an enthusiasm which augurs well for the forthcoming tenth annual func tion. It was decided that this year's exliibition should be held on Tuesday, September 24, opening at 1 p.m. and closing at 5 p.m. The comprehensive schedule includes classes for spring bulbs and flowers, decorative classes, sections tor children, home industries and sewing classes and an exhibition of arts and crafts —124 classes in all. In addition there will be stalls for the sale of work, produce and sweets as well as refreshment rooms. Competitions include sheep guessing, clock golf, nail driving, and many others. For the evening a dance has been arranged. It was decided that the proceeds of the show this year be equally divided between the domain board, the public library committee, and the Rangiwahia sub-committee of the Plunket Society. An innovation this year will be the provision of. “lock up” cases for the exhibition of the home industries section. BeilsUi, DeihW Deroles, Fankliauser, Haythorne, Jenkins, Hewison, Jewell, McCaskie, Meads, Morgan, Morton. G. and J. Rose, Misses A. McKenzie and B. Morgan. The judges appointed were: Bulbs and flowers, Mr T. Mason (Bulls); decorative and children’s classes, Mrs J. G. Barltrop (Feilding); home industries and sweets, 'Mesdames J. Northcote and A. Shannon (Waituna West); sewing, arts and crafts, ilrs A. H. Morgan (Shannon).

General News. A successful and enjoyable dance was held on Saturday night, proceeds being donated to the Tennis Club. Music was supplied bv Mi- .T. Carr and his orchestra, Mr N. Martin playing an extra. Mr N. Say well was M.C. The public will be pleased to hear that nearly 100 new books are now in circulation at the public library and any intending subscribers should have no difficulty in chosing books to suit their taste. Very wintry conditions have been experienced throughout the district during the last few days and consequently ail sporting fixtures arranged for the weekend were cancelled.
