pi’rom Our Own Correspondent. ’i/' annual district meeting- of the Cheltenham Dairy Company was held a. Kaumai on Tuesday afternoon, when Mr C. G. C. Dermer, chairman of directors, presided over a fair attendance of suppliers. Associated with Mr Dermer were Messrs J. M. McDonald (manager), ESinclair and J. T. Moar (directors). The chairman gave a summary of the years operations, and a brief review of the work of the Dairy Board, answering a number of ((uestions. The annual Rugby football match, 1 o- 1 hangina versus Mount Richards, was j played on the Pohangina domain area on : Thursday. Weather conditions were bwl, I and, as the game proceeded, the held became a veritable morass. Mud, however, did not dampen the ardour of the contestants, and the game was fast and willing, with a truo sporting spirit always in evidence. Mount Richards were the victors bv SO points to 25. On Friday evening another of the popular euchre, ping pong and dance parties was held, proceeds being In aid ol the Pohangina Basketball and Ping Pong Chilis, owing to counter attractions, Hie attendance was smaller than usual, hut an enjoyable evening was spent. Ihe winners of the euchre tournament were: Radies Miss .1. Scarle; consolation, Mrs .1. D. Galvin and Mrs G. Thompson (equal); men, Mr A. Bovis J. consolation, Mr W. Porter. Honours in the ping pong tournament'went to Messrs R. Watt ami E. AVcod, whose scores were equal, the former being acclaimed the winner by replay. Following were the details: Miss AV. With the object of liquidating a deb which was incurred by installing ventilators and electric fan in the hall, the Pohangina hall committee is holding grand concert and dance on Thursday evening! The concert programme will hi presented by the Ford Motors (Palmers ton North) concert party arid music fo: the dance will be provided by Bramwell: orchestra. Moar, of Pohangina, will be glad to learn that their son Trevor has made good progress after his recent operation and has returned horns.
