The railway was quite busy after the slip on tho line at the place known as Lynch's bend had been cleared. It will be some days before the earth is properly cleared away. On Wednesday-afternoon-the W.I. will meet. Members are reminded that it is a gift afternoon for a member recently burnt out. There is to be a demonstration on folk dancing, lecture on sweet making, and competition on best arrangement of spring blooms in a jam jar. The bachelors held a wind-up meeting on Monday evening, when the secretary, Mr If. Gore, presented a balance sheet showing a substantial profit. It-was decided to make a donation of £1 to the hall committee and to give a trophy for the AVhakarongo Flower Show, to be held on November 22.
