Selling Bulk Petrol on Sunday Breach of Law
TINES INFLICTED BY MAGISTRATE Per Press Association. NEW PLYMOUTH, Aug. 19. The supply of petrol from a bulk store to a reselling station on Sundays was held by Mr W. H. Woodward, S.M., in a reserved decision, to be illegal. B. E. Kivell, manager of a bulk store at Stratford; B. A. Robertson, driver of a tank waggon, and 12. Walker, serviee.-statipu proprietor, were convicted of Sunday trading and each was fined £l. The defence raised the contention that the replenishment of the supply was essential, but the Magistrate held there was no necessity from the viewpoint of the public but merely a business advantage to the tlirec men concerned
