Unemployed Registrations

INCREASE IN AUGUST Per Press Association. WELLINGTON, Aug. 19. The report of the Unemployment Board on the registrations of unemployed as at August 3 reveals an increase in the total number of males wholly or partly a charge on Ihe Unemployment Fund. The present total of 57,571 represents an increase of 3003 on the corresponding figure recorded last month.

The number in receipt of part-time employment-under scheme Re. 5 or sustenance in lieu of relief work as at August 3, was 39,835 compared with 38,291 on August 4, 1934. The number in full-time employment but assisted by wages subsidies from the Unemployment Fund was 17,710, compared with 3-1,157 a year ago.

This makes the total number who are a charge on the Unemployment Fund of 57,571, compared, with 02,451 a year ago.
