The children thoroughly enjoy, etl the good things provided for tea and reluctantly returned to tlicir homes in the early evening. Personal. Mr and Mrs C. M. Stanley spent the week-end visiting friends in Palmerston North. Mrs G. If. Gubbins has returned from a holiday spent in Wellington. Mr Oxley, who for the past feiv weeks has been the guest of Mr C. M. Stanley, lias returned to Pahiatua. On Sunday morning ihe road from Apiti to Kimbolton was blocked by a clay slip. Workmen set to work ana made the road clear for traffic. Later in the day, however, another big slip came down and completely blocked the road about five miles from Apiti. One party of local residents, returning from town, made, a track across water-logged paddocks to Mr Signal’s house, and from there were motored to their homes by Mr Signal, and so were saved the necessity of making a detour of many miles.
