Damage to Cricket Ground
TURF TO BE RELAYED AT LORD'S United Press Association.—By Electric Telegraph.—Copyright. LONDON July 25. Owing to extensive leather jacket (insect) damages to the wicket ground at Lord’s, the turf is being relayed during tho winter. The “Telegraph” stales that parts of the wicket arc 150 years old. The playing area covers eight acres, but only flie centre portion is being returfed. ’i’he cost is estimated at several thousands of pounds.
