* PAREWANUI The president (Mrs Marumaru) presided over the July meeting, a largo attendance of members being present. Mrs 11. Last-Harris was welcomed back after licr long illness.- Mrs Marumaru was elected delegate to attend the conference at Auckland. It was decided to hold a euchre and dance on August 2 to raise funds for tne blind, cripples, and the poor. During the afternoon two demonstrations were held. Miss Thicker (Bulls) shown some very usefularticles made from old felt hats. Mrs Apirana demonstrated flax work. Members showed keen interest -in both demonstrations. Votes of thanks wore accorded the demonstrators. Mrs Tricker and Mrs Harvey kindly judged tho jamroll competition, which resulted: Mrs Marumaru 1, Mrs Govenor 2.
