From Our Own Correspondent. Miniature Rifle Shooting. On Friday night Bulls, the holders of tho McKeivie cup, were defeated by Sandon on the Bulls range. The shooting was very close right throughout, Sandon being two up on the first round. Bulls : were unable to catch them at tile conclusion of the second round, Sandon being ; one in the bad. The issue was in doubt : till the last shot, Sanson requiring a “bull” to win which was registered by the veteran shot of their club, F. Lumsden, thus enabling the Sanson team to take away from Bulls the coveted McKeivie cup. The following are the scores registered by eacli club: — Sanson: Keith Lumsden 69. G 9, 138; G. The score was even at half time, 5 ull, McDonald scoring for Old Boys and Harro converting. Grimlett scored for Toko and Waldin converted. Play commenced in tlie second half with Old Boys attacking and Nicol dummied his way to pass to Hammond, who scored near Hie post. Harre again goalod. Old Boys 10, Toko 5. On resuming Old Boys were penalised and Walden kicked a good goal. Toko S, Old Boys 10. Ifarre fumbled a good kick from Toko and Gimlett broke through to score under the posts. Walden failed with the kick. Toko-Stanway 11, Old Boys 10. Toko-Stanway now were giving the Old Boys’ backs a hard time, not letting them get going. Walden secured just on call of time and broke tnrough under the post. Morrison converted. Toko-Stanway 16, Old Boys 10. Halcombo defeated Old Boys juniors at Marton 14—6. For the winners Hughes scored two tries and Gotty one. Paraniki converted one and kicked a penalty. For Old Boys R. Hammond scored a try and H. Moss kicked a penalty. Bulls and Huntervillo juniors met at Bulls on Saturday, the home team winning by 17 to S. Bulls won tho toss and defended tho eastern goal. Mcllwraitli scored for Hunterville with a try hut Paltridgo failed with the kick. Shortly after R. Ellery made an opening to let Ellis score for Bulls which Brassell converted. Bulls 5, Hunterville 3. Riston scored for Hunterville and Bartlett converted. Hunterville 8, Bulls 5. In the second half Bulls had the better of tlie game. Guy scored but Brassell failed with tho kick. Shortly after from a penalty Brussell got a good goal. Bulls 11, Hunterville 8. Henderson shot across for a try for Bulls but the kick failed anad Guy again crossed for the final score, but no goal resulted. The final score was Bulls 17, Hunterville S. Mr E. Westwood refereed. At Hunterville on Saturday the home team defeated Athletic by 9 to 6.- For Hunterville G. Follas scored two tries and L. Smith one. M. Cornier scored two tries for Athletic. Senior Table. P. W. D. L.
