From Our Own Correspondent. Clydesdale School. The Annual meeting of householders of Clydesdale school was held on AVednesday, April 24th, Mr. S. Armitage (chairman) presiding. There was a moderate attendance present A full statement and explanation of all the accounts Avas given, revealing satisfactory credit balances. The following is the Annual report which covers the year's working:—The past year has been a very successful one from a financial point of view, and In some respects, an unusual one. A new school had been opened at Tangimoana after the first term, Miss Tunnlcliffe being transferred there. As a consequence our roll suffered to a. certain extent. Other children however were admitted, and at the end of the year our roil number was 35. The school re-opened this year with a. roll number of 25 and now stands at 28. During the month of June a, serious epidemic of measels went through tho school, 29 children being away at one time leaving only 6 In attendance for a fortnight and it Avas well into the middle of July before the attendance became normal. Our anmTal fancy dress ball proved a popular attraction and the financial result had been most satisfactory, sufficient funds being available for procuring annual prizes and estimated cost of picnic. A series of games had been played during the winter months in tho Brown Cup football competition which had eventually been won by Carnarvon. Mr Frank Thomson resigned from the committee during the year and Mr. Stanley Quinlan was elected to fill the vacancy. During, tho year .notification had been received that the Environment Certificate Avas to be endorsed for tho sth successive year, which- shows the- school and its surroundings are being maintained at their usual high standard. Miss Flavell (head teacher) is to bs commended, for the keen interest slio has taken in the school, the conduct of the children in school - hours, at entertainments, etc., bearing out the good reports of the Inspectors regarding the discipline in the school. Special thanks are extended to Mr. Jack Scott for auditing the books; also to tlie ladies for their valuable help and co-operation at all functions in connection with tlie school. Tlio chairman thanked his fellow committee members for the keen interest they litd taken in tlm'school affairs, and particularly Air. E. R. GeriniUs (secretary). Tlie present committee is Messrs S. Armitage (chairman), E. R. Gennills (secy.), S. Quinla.n, Hugh' Maxwell and F. M. Ruxford and they hold office for another year as a result of the elections being held only every two years. Personal.

Mrs. Cunliffc has returned home to Matamata after an extended visit to Mr. and Mrs. S. Quinlan of Frecklington's Bine. Air E. Vine has returned to his home at" Mansfield St., Newton, after spending the Easter vacation with Mr. and Mrs. John Powell. , Mrs. Howell of Everton Terrace, AVellington spent Easter with her sister Mrs. Colip. McKenzie and, has gone to gulls Sfi-

compauied by her sister prior to returning to her home. Residents will regret to hear that Mr. K. B. Zajoir'skoAvski has had to enter the Public hospital, Palmerston North, for treatment. It is hoped the results will prove beneficial and that his stay in the institution will not be long. A splendid collection of cups, trophies, etc., has-been' gained In a successful show ring season of all the North Island fixtures by Mr. H. E. Fieldhouso with his splendid pigs. It is a collection indeed to be proud of and more so by the racs that Mr. Fieldhouse who has not enjoyed the best of health, has achieved his notable successes by sheer determination, good judgment and kindly attention. His one great pleasure is to display his trophies to any interested parties . and friends and one is assured of genial -hosnitality and an interesting description of many of the leading A: & P.
