PERSONALITIES
At the meeting of the Manawatu and West Coast A. and P. Association yesterday, a motion of eondolcnco was accorded Mr W. A. Davison, of Eongotea, in the death of his father; Mr J. A. McLeavey in the death of his brother; and the relatives of the late Mr Alec Matheson.
Mr D. S. Wylie, F.K.C.S., who attended the eighth annual' conference of the Royal Australian and New Zealand College of Surgeons, is expected to return to the city this week. Mr Cyril King, of Palmerston North, who also attended the conference, has returned.
The death has occurred of Mr J. E. Corrigan, aged G 9, of Hawera. He arrived at Hawera -12 years ago from Tinwald (Canterbury) and soon became established as a breeder of stud sheep and later had extensive dairying interests. He was also prominent in trotting circles and for many years was one of the leading owners. For 28 years lie was a director of the Hawera Dairy Co., and was chairman for 17 years. He-was chairman of the Eltham Box Co. for some years, chairman of the South Taranaki Winter Show Co., a director and chairman of the New Zealand Eennct Co., chairman of the West Coast Ecfrigerating Co., a director of the South Taranaki Shipping Co., and also a director of a number of other companies. Mr Corrigan was the member for the Patca electorate from 1922 till 1925 and was a representative on the Dairy Board from 1926 till 1932.—Press Association.
