Infantile Paralysis Epidemic in Australia

PRECAUTIONS BEING TAKEN Per Press Association. WELLINGTON, Last"' Night. In the House of Representatives this afternoon, Mr W. J. Jordan asked the Minister of Health if he had seen a report that an infantile paralysis epidemic had broken out in certain parts of Australia and if precautions were being taken to prevent the epidemic from reaching New Zealand. Sir Alexander Young, in reply said he had not been notified of any epidemic in Australia, and that the usual precautions were being taken to prevent any infectious disease reaching New Zealand. He also said that arrangements had been made for the treatment of infantile paralysis by the most modern methods at hospitals.
