Heayy Rainstorm Experienced By Rotorua

Per Press Association. ROTORUA, Mart'll if. One of the heaviest rainstorms in the history of the district occurred to-day, over 4A inches of rain falling between 9 and S p.m. Although considerable surface water is lying in the lower areas of the town, no serious damage is reported. Minor damage was caused to practically all roads, but there were no serious slips and all routes arc open for traffic. In tho business area the flooding of the stormwater drainage caused the water to overflow the footpaths, and had the rain continued, damage in some business premises would probably have been caused. As it was, the wafer was lapping the thresholds when •the downpour ceased.
