First Sight of Trams
ACCUSED MAN'S VISIT TO CITY. t Per Press Association. CHRISTCHURCH, Feb. 5. When a man aged 24 appeared in the Magistrate’s Court his counsel said lie had come from the West Coast and had never seen trams or aeroplanes until he came to Christchurch. The accused was Alexander Hamilton William Day, who was jointly charged with Robert William Leeming, .aged 33, with stealing various goods valued at £l2 from a hut at Whitecliffs. Both men were committed for trial.
