. Members of the Pollyanna Club provided delightful entertainment to a large and appreciative audience in the Cuba Street Methodist Church hall last evening, the occasion being the annual concert, held to augment funds. Mrs. H. L. Richards, president, warmly welcomed those present. The bright spirit, of the club was evident throughout, a varied and interesting programme, which was as follows: — Opening ehrouscs (club choir), “Here Wo Are Again,” “Pack Up Your Troubles,” “Hi Ho, Everybody,” “I’m Happy—”; guitar duet, Misses Perrin and Whitehead; Pedlar playette; Maori song, Miss G. oung; dialogue, Miss L. Eraser; old English minuet; choir chorus, ‘Night of Stars”; vocal duet, Mesdames Richards and Twigge; playette, “The Family Group”; Shakespearean Tccital, Mr. H. L. Richards; vocal duet. Misses N. Cowlishaw and 0. Cottam, “Japanese Tea House.” A chorus, “The Perfect Day;” suitably rounded off the programme. The choruses by the choir were a feature of tho entertainment which made an instant appeal, while the playettes and dialogues kept the audienco in a simmer of mirth. Special mention should be made of tho old English minuet —the dancers, clad in colourful costumes (kindly lent by the Y.M.C.A.), moving through, their steps with perfect grace and rhythm. Vocal, items rendered during the evening were of a high standard. Mrs. A. Murdoch presided at tho piano during tho evening. Thanks were accorded Messrs. A. H. Cresswell and E. P. Wix for services rendered. A bouquet was presented by Miss G. Boyce to Mrs. Richards, and by Mrs. Richards to Mrs. Murdoch, in appreciation of their help, musical honours following.
