Tennis in Feilding

ST. PAUL’S CLUB MEETING. There was a good attendance at the annual meeting of St. Paul’s Tennis Club, Fcilding, over which Mr G. Bartholomew presided. The chairman, reviewing tho year’s working, said it was a matter of great credit to the committee that only £lO of the £lO5 raised by debentures remained to be paid off. He hoped the club would soon possess debt-free property. He wished the club success in the coming year. Mr S. McDowall also complimented the committee on its efforts during the 12 months. Tho election of officers resulted: President, Bcv. D. It. McDonald; vice-pre-sidents, Messrs Geo. Bartholomew, A. Duthie, and 11. Mclntyre; lion, secretary, Miss ,S. Pearce; hon. treasurer, Mr J. Watts; club captain, Mr A. Gibson; committee, Misses J. Watts, I. Hummer, Messrs Iv. Smith and J. Pearce; hon. auditor, Mr O. Aldis. The resignation of Miss J. Watts as secretary was accepted with regret. The meeting unanimously supported a letter from St. John’s Tennis Club suggesting tho formation of an interchurch clubs’ tennis association, and it was decided to recommend that steps be taken to put the suggestion into operation in time for the 1935 playing season. Messrs. Gibson and McDowell were appointed delegates to the meeting of tho association.
