Waituna West
From. Our Own Correspondent. The monthly meeting of the Waituna West Women’s Institute was held last Thursday afternoon, there being a good, attendance of members, a. demonstration on wax work was given liy Miss Wnn.nnon and Miss Guyleo and this was followed with keen interest by all present. The monthly competition for the best pot of marmalade resulted: Mrs. K. Shannon 1, Mrs. A. Id. Shannon 2, Mrs. Johnson if An egg ra.lly brought in a large number of eggs, and parcels of groceries were banded in to be forwarded on to the district nurse. The hostesses for the afternoon were Mrs. Lucas and Misses Lucas. For the October meeting a sixpenny bring and buy stall will be held, and the competition will be for the best darned man's heavy socle. Owing to Mrs. Kilvington being indisposed the demonstration on raffia work to be given by her was postponed until the Octoocr meeting. The hostesses for this meeting will be Mrs. J. Old, Mrs. Johnson, Misses Shannon and 1C England.
