MAKO MAKO The Alay meeting of the Mako Make AV.I. was presided over by Airs F. AY. Groves, jnr. 'Aliss Sargent gave a verj interesting talk on borne nursing, taking for her subject "Haemorrhages.” This was followed with groat interest. Later the drama circle, under the direction of Mrs A. K. Wylie, gave an admirable reading of tho New Zealand play, “Lantern Light.” Those taking part were: Alesdames Hughes, Groves, jnr., Hoggard and Eddie, Aliss R. Mitchell and Miss E. Sowry. The competition for the best article from 2oz of w'ool was divided into two sections, knitting and crochet, and resulted: Knitting, Airs C. Garlick 1, Mrs Rising 2, Aliss R. Groves 3; crochet, Airs F. AY. Groves 1, Airs AVoofe 2. A vote of thanks .was proposed to Airs Sargent, also to Airs A. R. AVvlic and members of the drama circle. The hostesses for the afternoon were Airs W. Sowry, Air.-; Hughes and Aliss Beech. It was decided to hold a fancy dress dance and social evening on Friday, June 1, to Taise funds to provide Christmas tree gifts. The National Anthem, brought the meeting to a cl'ose.
